BIM Specialist

AD&V'®s BIM Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and technical support of office-wide CAD and BIM (Revit) and design technology systems. The BIM Specialist will assist the firm in the consistent and uniform use of design technologies to maintain and support AD&V’s innovative design solutions.

This position is perfect for you if…

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Disciplines, or a related field.

  • You are bilingual: English and Spanish.

  • You have five years or more of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or a Construction-related field.

  • You have strong professional references.

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and MS Project or similar management software.

  • You are proficient in Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit + BIM 360, and Navisworks.

  • You are apt for programming and customizing AUTOCAD and Revit.

  • You have an understanding of construction documents coordination with other disciplines related to architecture. 

  • Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, and Dynamo technical skills preferred.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Overseeing and maintaining office-wide CAD and BIM and design technology systems.

  • Providing a further definition of project solutions with clarity and precision to the technical aspects.

  • Working under the supervision of Design Leads.

  • Creating and Maintaining models for project-specific requirements.

  • Coordinating between Drawings and Specifications.

  • Coordinating between Architecture Drawings and Consultant’s Drawings.

  • Coordinating and checking drawings and specifications, across multiple disciplines, for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Providing daily support to Design Leads with the necessary information and resources.

  • Provide support by strategically investigating leading-edge technologies related to CAD and BIM as well as related technologies that would benefit the firm in design and construction.

  • Ensuring that project drawings and models are set up and maintained according to AD&V’s standards.

  • Supporting and auditing the project team and flagging non-compliances.

  • Actively supporting the firm’s leadership in the implementation of firm-wide CAD and BIM(Revit) standards.

  • Coordinating the development and maintenance of Revit file management.

  • The ongoing review of BIM project models, workflow, and methodologies to ensure timely delivery and maintain consistencies of project deliverables.

  • Assist with general design technology-related helpdesk tasks including maintenance and roll-out of software.

  • Interfacing with the AD&V’s IT group, assisting in hardware benchmarking and providing forecasts of design technology-related expenditures.

  • Interfacing with AD&V’s Design Studio to foster the integration of emerging design technologies with the design technology production platform.

  • Updating and further developing and streamlining AD&V’s CAD and Revit library, families, and design assets including furniture, encore, lighting, and materials.

  • Communicating conflicts in models, both real and potential.

  • Preparing As-Built drawings and 3D renderings.

  • Visiting Project Sites.

  • Creating written technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with AD&V’s vision and goals.

  • Training or upskilling colleagues in specific software programs.

  • Adhering to the latest industry standards and advances in building technology.
