HR & Payroll Technician

AD&V®'s Human Resources and Payroll Technician works directly with AD&V’s HR & Accounts Director to ensure that all human resource processes and payroll functions for the organization are carried out on time to ensure compliance. The HR and Payroll Technician is a trustworthy role at AD&V that assists in human resources strategies by supporting human resource functions, including but not limited to recruiting and retention efforts, performance and benefits management, on-boarding, off-boarding, employee development, and record keeping. The HR and Payroll Technician provides support throughout the complete AD&V payroll process.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • First point of contact for employees, concerning AD&V Way policies and practices, and employee benefits, including but not limited to leave licenses, retirement plans, medical and emergency policies, and allowances.

  • Maintaining and updating human resources documents, such as employee handbooks or directories, employee logs, and performance evaluation forms as requested.

  • Maintaining up-to-date employee files in both, manual and computerized filing systems.

  • Processing all aspects of employee information from the initial hiring process to termination including data entry into payroll, timekeeping software, and benefits carrier systems.

  • Administering employee benefit plans and acting as the company’s contact with the broker and insurance companies.

  • Supporting AD&V’s Supervisors with all AD&V’s Performance Procedures, including but not limited to Performance reviews, verbal and written memos, improvement, and development plans.

  • Managing the AD&V’s One on One Procedures, including but not limited to making sure they’re happening, offering support to supervisors, electronic filing, assessments of One on One Reports, and raising flags on issues that must be addressed.

  • Guiding employees with AD&V licenses, procedures, and time off policies.

  • Supporting Leadership in the recruitment and interview process including but not limited to tracking the status of candidates and following up, preparing, and sending Employment Offers among others.

  • Providing support during employee contract negotiations, if required.

  • Managing new hires’ onboarding, including contract and required documentation, orientation, schedule, new hires paperwork, and coordinating meetings with appropriate parties.

  • Conducting all aspects of the semi-monthly payroll process with oversight and input from AD&V’s HR & Accounts Director, including but not limited to reviewing hours, and overtime requirements, updating benefit deductions, and processing direct deposits and or payroll checks.

  • Maintaining a timekeeping system with accurate employee information.

  • Ensuring all up-to-date legal postings are placed in a designated area within established timeframes.

  • Overseeing Health and Safety initiatives, policies, and document updates to ensure legislative compliance.

  • Participating in various HR workflows, such as but not limited to, EEO tracking, employee benefit programs, workers’ compensation claims, unemployment forms, COBRA administration, and disability claims by compiling, completing, filing, complying, and distributing appropriate electronic and physical paperwork.

  • Participating in internal committees and working groups to provide guidance relating to HR functions. Coordinating programs and initiatives to support the wellness of the AD&V Team and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

  • Working independently to acquire the skills and knowledge to perform the duties assigned.

  • Performing additional tasks as directed.
