AS WE CELEBRATE MOTHER’S DAY MONTH, WE WANT TO RECOGNIZE ALL THE HARD WORK, TIME, AND EFFORT THAT WORKING MOMS PUT IN EACH DAY.
Ever wonder how working moms can do so much? This is because working moms have A LOT of management practice. There’s a saying that goes, “If you want something done, assign it to a working mom.” Here’s how working moms always manage to get everything done:
1. EXPERT ORGANIZERS
The amount of responsibility that working moms are tasked with requires that they become expert organizers. Whether it be organizing a child’s birthday party, prioritizing their tasks at work, or planning the next family vacation, working moms need to plan ahead.Working moms juggle multiple schedules and agendas; not only their own but those of their children and sometimes even their partners. To avoid double booking themselves and prioritize what’s really important everything must be scheduled and planned for. Without this level of organization, home and work life can be chaotic and things can fall through the cracks.
2. TIME MANAGEMENT GURUS
Time management is a skill working moms have mastered. They make the best use of the valuable time they have at home, work, and for themselves so that they don’t miss anything important.Working moms manage their time wisely by focusing on their priorities first ensuring the most important tasks are either done or delegated.
3. PRODUCTIVITY WIZARDS
Working moms need to own the day. Most wake up early before anyone else and start the day setting themselves up for productivity. These morning rituals include exercise, reading, meditation and journaling.Once these self-care habits are taken care of they can then begin getting the family ready for the day, school drop-off and taking work calls. By waking up early and taking control of their days, they set themselves up for success and productivity.
4. THEY KNOW WHEN TO SAY NO
Moms are the ultimate people pleasers but working moms have had to learn the hard way how to say no. They know that unfortunately, they can’t go to every dinner, volunteer for every committee, or be involved in every single board they’re asked to participate in.At least, not all at the same time. They say no sometimes to focus their time and energy on being present in the moments that really matter.
5. JUGGLING MASTERS
Working full-time while juggling a full life that involves friends and family is not an easy feat. The caretaker role often falls on the shoulders of women and working moms have learned to manage their time and energy so they find a balance with their family, extended family, their social life, and their work life. They’re the juggling masters managing to support and everyone and keep everything from falling apart.
6. ALWAYS THERE FOR US
Working moms are always there no matter what. Regardless of all the work they may have or all the things they have to get done, they drop everything for us when we need them. They are empathic and compassionate. They are there to celebrate our achievements and comfort us during tough times. We know that we can count on them completely because they have our back.
REAL LIFE SUPERHEROES
For Mother’s Day month we wanted to pay tribute to working moms everywhere by highlighting and celebrating their extraordinary skillset. Working moms are the best at organizing, time management, being productive, saying no, being present, and juggling their personal and professional life. They can pretty much do it all and make the impossible happen. If you want something done, assign it to a working mom! Who needs superheroes when you have moms?
