Green Initiatives, Building Code and Specifications
AD&V® is looking for a Technical Architect, specialized in Green Initiatives, Building Code and Specifications. This person will be a vital member of our architectural team performing technical analysis and presenting optimization opportunities on Life Cycle Cost and impact studies (LCA and LCC), Façade performance simulation, and Energy and daylighting simulations. This is a Full-Time position in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This position is perfect for you if…
You have a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Architecture.
You have a LEED AP with Specialty (BD+C).
You have the ability to perform technical analysis and present optimization opportunities on Life Cycle Cost and impact studies (LCA and LCC), Façade performance simulation, and Energy and daylighting simulation.
You have an advanced knowledge of Building Codes.
You possess strong design sensibility which leads to the enhancement of design through the technical innovation and processes.
You have demonstrated experience in and readiness to lead the technical details of projects.
You have the ability to work on multiple projects and manage project priorities.
You have proficiency in REVIT.
You posses an active architectural license from U.S. jurisdiction.
You have strong leadership skills.
You are bilingual: English and Spanish.
You have strong organizational, graphic, and written/verbal communication skills.
You have strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Project and Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite.

Your responsibilities will include…
Lead the Technical effort of projects and ensure overall technical quality of work across the office.
Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production.
Coordinate quality review efforts beginning at project onset and continuing through completion as a part of the day-to-day design process for multi-disciplined teams.
Support green building certification process alongside a diverse group of disciplines.
Maintain sustainable design relevant project tracking documents (Scorecard, design documents, construction submittal reviews).
Document and submit green building certification credits for third party review.
Work with clients and design teams to build consensus establishing sustainable design and project certification goals, employing feasibility analysis or other methods to facilitate goal setting.
Serve as a technical resource for product and material evaluations, selections, and research.
Compose and support the production of project manuals for projects.
Lead and develop AD&V®’s Firmwide Specification Masters.
Develop additional quality review protocols to enhance existing procedures.
Perform document reviews at key milestones, including inter-disciplinary coordination and constructability.
Create and maintain office-wide training and development for less experienced staff.
Improve the quality of our deliverables and reduce risk.
Improve the efficiency of our document production effort.
