Condado Residential Project
YEAR: 2006
LOCATION: San Juan, Puerto Rico
DESIGNING WITH A HISTORIC PAST
While many developers were proposing large, increasingly oversized units, the AD&V design team understood the importance of the forgotten millennial generation, years before it became trendy to talk about them. Taking its cues from early European trends and the importance of city living, this concept focused on a unique offering to this important demographic cohort.
To create a unique story, AD&V based its design on the area’s historic past. Stylistically, the building combines architectural details from each of Condado’s boom periods—from its birth in the 1920s through its second resurgence in the 1970s when it became a tourist destination—and onward to the present day. Blu’s striking look presents elements of Art Deco style and Brutalist sensibility that are merged together to suit and compliment the district and its client’s eclectic taste.
